Beautiful Norway
Norway is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and continues to be the inspiration for artists from all over the world. Many are drawn to its dramatic landscapes, beautiful light, and rich cultural heritage. I was fortunate enough to spend time in Norway a few years ago. At every turn I saw a new idea, a new inspiration for art that I wanted to paint.
Fjords, Mountains and Colorful Buildings
The country’s fjords, mountains, and colorful buildings offer an amazing backdrop that has captivated artists of every genre. Frits Thaulow, has a beautiful painting called “Winter Landscape”. Hans Fredrik Gude also presented a gorgeous piece called ‘View of Wolfgangsee’. It’s from artists such as these two that we can see some of the beauty that Norway has to offer.
My Own Inspiration While In Norway
While walking the streets of Norway, I found inspiration around every corner. Color, texture and attitude add to the beauty of this amazing country. The people are friendly and each town is lovelier than the last. I loved the outdoor markets selling everything from fresh vegetables and fresh caught fish to canned caviar and unusual fruit. I was also drawn to the sense of solitude and serenity found in Norway’s remote regions, which causes deep thought and introspection. Beyond nature, Norwegian folklore, myths, and a strong storytelling tradition contribute to artistic expression.
In a nutshell, Norway is a beautiful country that encourages expression in art. I loved my visit to Norway and I loved the people and the history that I found there.
